Quant researcher hopeful

Hi WSO! I’m a CS PhD and professional gambler with strong backgrounds in both looking to transition to a more normal job, in big part because of coronavirus. After talking with a former options trader friend and reading up I think I’d be great as a quant researcher at a prop shop or hedge fund.

I’m going to post my resume in the resume forum shortly for review, but if anyone has any suggestions for places I should consider applying at then I’m all ears. Between Chicago and NYC I’d prefer the former, but if it’s a particularly great fit I don’t mind going anywhere.

My rough draft first list is 3Red, AQR, CTC, Citadel, DE Shaw, DRW, Hudson River, IMC, Jane Street, Jump, Optiver, Point72, Renaissance, SIG, and Two Sigma.

Thanks!
