Self Introduction

Hello! My name is Raymond, and I'm currently a graduate student at Colorado State University, pursuing a dual degree in MBA Corporate Sustainability and a Master of Finance, with graduation expected in May 2025.

I am an inherently curious and open-minded individual with a deep passion and strong skill set in the following areas:

I have accumulated 4 years of professional experience in Finance and Accounting, having worked with the SEC, an Investment Bank, and a Venture Studio firm before returning to graduate school.

Looking ahead, I am eager to transition into a career in Equity Research, Investment Banking or Corporate Finance after completing my graduate studies. Additionally, I am enthusiastic about networking with industry leaders, like-minded individuals, and fellow job seekers on here.

Raymond, your introduction is solid and highlights your strengths effectively. Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are a few tips to further refine your self-introduction for networking or job-seeking purposes:

  1. Tailor Your Focus: Since you're targeting Equity Research, Investment Banking, or Corporate Finance, emphasize how your skills and experiences align with these fields. For example, highlight your Financial Modeling and Valuation Analysis expertise as critical for IB and Equity Research.

  2. Quantify Achievements: If possible, include specific accomplishments from your 4 years of experience. For instance, mention deals closed, financial models built, or impactful projects completed.

  3. Networking Angle: When reaching out to industry professionals, mention your curiosity and eagerness to learn from their experiences. This makes your approach more engaging.

  4. Call to Action: End with a clear ask, such as seeking advice, insights, or opportunities to connect further.

Your background in Corporate Sustainability and Finance is unique and could be a differentiator in roles focusing on ESG or sustainable finance within IB or Corporate Finance. Keep leveraging that!
