Special Operations to Finance

Hi friends!

Brand new here, looking to get into the world of finance. I’m 25 years old and have been in the military for 7 years. I absolutely love what I do and am truly living the dream but it’s time to find the next mountain to climb. I’m currently a Green Beret, I work as a Special Forces Medical Sergeant. I’ve been looking at transitioning out of the military to work in finance. I currently have a bachelors degree in health sciences but I plan on applying to target schools and pursuing my MBA before working in this field. My biggest concern is the unknown of this transition. Working In special operations my day to day can be intense and stressful, especially working in trauma medicine. This being said I thrive in these types of environments, we’re a dog eat dog community and you earn your beret everyday. I want to work in a similar environment, I’ve been looking into IB but naturally don’t have knowledge and am not exposed to the realm by any means. I see a lot about IB positions with an undergrad but less about how it’s like being an MBA holder in this field. I’m trying to understand how to best break I to this field with no experience outside of my military career. Whatever tidbits you guys have would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to future conversation.

Frank
