Suggestions for a young finance major!

Hello all,

This is my first post on WSO. Im currently an undergraduate freshman at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. I've known since the 6th grade that i wanted a career in finance; specifically investment banking. So naturally my declared major is Finance, Investment, and Banking. Do you have any advice or suggestions as to how to best approach my goals? I understand it is best to get involved, focus on academics, and look for leadership opportunities.

Do you need to obtain an elite MBA degree from an ivy league school to make it into the Investment Banking world?

Thank you all for your time!

- Ryan
