The cultural role of all that economics bloating and financial wizarding?

Hi,

I would like to know are there examples when the term "economics" itself was represented not as the idiotic model of supply and demand, because we know it usually is way more complicated and doesn't work that much, but that of an important philosophical discipline products of which can be viewed as magnificent, artistic... beautiful. Same for finance, were you in total awe from some great financial moves, because not of greed but of sheer idea of quantifying materialism around you and make it move in certain directions?
