The New Guy.

Hello Ladies and Gents,

I first encountered WSO when I slipped on the banana peel of the Google search engine searching for career advice. Currently a sophomore in college who is seeking to build a career in finance and do whatever it takes to be successful in it. Ultimately, since I am new to the scene I figured I will build my stock portfolio, hunt for internships, and start studying for the CFA. Feels really awkward typing this.. is it just me? -Put that coffee down!

Building portfolio and studying for CFA matters much more if you're trying to break into ER or AM. Not so much if you're aiming for IB; judging from the consensus here. So, choose your side. Godspeed.
