Under-qualified?

A middle market investment bank has extended me an associate position.

About me-I have been in commercial banking for 4+ years, though with small to middle market experience. I did my MBA at a top 50 school where I was 'first' in my class and recognized as such. I have minimal modeling experience based on an elective during my MBA and a case study competition. Obviously they think I have the potential to make the transition.

This is all I ever wanted but on the whole, am I in over my head? I assume I will be treated more as an analyst to learn the process better. Thoughts or similar experiences?

Fake it 'til you make it. Just brush up on your modeling skills until you start and you'll be fine.

Pretty much this. I don't think you are in a much different position than any other post-MBA Associate without prior IB experience.
