Which school to attend for MBA? BU vs. BC vs. Smith vs. Penn State

Hello all,

I have received admits from 5 schools for MBA so far:

1. Boston University (Full scholarship)
2. Boston College (Full scholarship)
3. Penn State (Full scholarship + assistantship)
4. Maryland Smith (Half scholarship)
5. Kenan-Flagler (No scholarship)

I live in New York City currently and plan to return to NYC after MBA. I have applied to NYU Stern too but am yet to hear back from them. If Stern happens, that would be ideal. However, I have to choose one of the above and pay the enrollment deposit in a week.

I plan to get into Finance / Consulting after MBA. Any advice on which school to pick?

Thank you! I just received an admit from Darden too. So, now it is Darden (with no schol) vs. BC (with full schol). My goal is to join a F500 company in Corp Dev/Strategy/Fin role. What do you recommend?

Darden is clearly the best school out of your options. Seeing as your career goals have shifted (and will probably continue to shift), you're most likely best off going to the best school on your list. That way, if you decide that you want to do IB, MBB, or something a bit harder to get into that F500 CF, you'll still have that option. Also, and I'm not positive on this because I never really looked at BC or similar schools, but Darden will probably open more doors in Corporate Development or Strategy. I know Danaher takes a few kids each year for their CD group, and Samsung takes some for their Global Strategy group from Darden. I'm sure there are plenty of other opportunities.

Thank you! I am aware that Darden will give me better opportunities. However, considering that I definitely don't want to go into IB/MBB after MBA, do you think it would be worth spending $120K on?
