The House just passed a bill which makes sexting as a teenager a felony, puts them on the registered sex offender list, and mandates 15-30 YEARS IN PRISON just for sexting. I personally think this is absolutely terrible, what do the rest of you monkeys think about this?

So, a 'show me your tits' text or email can land you 15 years in prison? People have done less time for murder and often have done less for rape. What if my friend accidentally sends me a dick pic instead of his girlfriend? Can we both go to jail?

America's "justice" system is just perfect, isn't it?
America's criminal justice system is the worst of any developed country in the world. Forgetting the fact that America already has 5% of the world's population and 25% of the worlds's prisoners and the system is already broken at every level. You would have thought that Congress could see how the sex offender registry unfairly targets non-violent people and try to shy away from tough on crime bs, instead they heap piles of crap on the problem.
Sidenote = the mandatory minimum was already around 15 years for felony 'child porn'. The change with the law is that it removes intent and makes it even easier to send kids to purgatory on the SOR
