2 Simple Ways to Substantially Improve the Quality of Your Life

Hi Monkeys,

I know this forum title is a bit Buzzfeed-esque, but hear me out. A couple years ago in graduate school I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown and came down with what is called Bells Palsy. It's facial paralysis incurred mostly by stress, poor diet, cigarettes, etc...

Ever since that day I have strived to improve my mental and physical health to optimize my overall well being. The 2 following simple actions have provided me with the most significant benefits:

  1. Cut Out Booze Benefits: save money, more energy, better eating habits, less irritable Cons: awkward first dates, loss of friends who only can relate with booze (pro?)

  2. Get Rid of Your TV Benefits: lower utility bill, better sleep, more time Cons: can't talk about most recent episode with friends

Now understand that I still have a night out with buddies every once in a while, glass of wine with my girl, and catch the games at friends houses, but it has decreased dramatically. I am definitely a weirdo when I refuse booze when out with friends and explain how I read instead of watch TV, but I can tell you that life is significantly better.

Muchas gracias for reading.
