2014 Getting Dumped Rules
Folks,
In full disclosure I am married. Recently I came upon an article written in the renowned Business Insider discussing when to break-up with Wall Streeter.
http://www.businessinsider.com/signs-its-time-to-break-up-with-a-wall-s…
At best there are a couple of funny observations but it also highlights habits that we maybe loosing our minds:
"They use only Wall Street jargon.
Bankers have their own language, and it's all based on money, deals, and trading.
For example: "Upside of going to the Hamptons this weekend is that James is throwing a party at Pink Elephant, downside is that he's inviting my ex."
If your significant other talks like this about ... basically anything, let him or her go."
It is already hard to maintain a relationship but we do not need any further tips on how to break up with anyone of us. I get it we are social Type A humans but just because we socialize with others that we enjoy our time with doesn't mean you have to break up with us:
"They hang out only with other bankers ...
They already spend about 20 hours a day with other bankers — why not a change of social scenery for an hour or two?
Feeling no need whatsoever to get out of the banking world once in a while is definitely a bad sign."
I personally don't think the above is a such a bad thing but if the significant other doesn't understand, support and provides you with the comfort that you need while dealing with everyday stressors or boredom then I simply say.....FUCK THEM!
"They told you that your non-finance career "isn't a real job.
You made the effort to learn what EBITDA stands for, but your banker significant other laughed when you said that you had a hard day at your job.
There's something wrong here."
Ah well how else are you contributing to the future growth of the relationship?
Has anyone been truly dumped because of work or because it just wasn't going to work out? In reverse what are the signs that you must dump
