With Lightspeed you need 25k to open up an account, but those are mainly for day trading. Scottrade is pretty cheap at $7 for each trade.

just do merrilledge. you need to keep ~$25k in cash, but you get 30 free trades per month for any equities.

Surprised no one has mentioned Interactive Brokers. Lightspeed is also good but its more for day or swing trading.
