Acceding to versus comparison, A 4K TV is only worth it if you have a large enough TV, and you are sitting close enough to your screen. According to the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, you would need to be sitting less than eight feet from a 65-inch TV to notice the difference between 4K and 1080p.
I have four of these, not all procured at the same time. Overall, yes. I still have one 1080p but rather watch on a 4k TV. Just watch anything or Play a game. There is a difference.
unless you're north of 60" don't bother on 4k. only a rare movie is sent in it anyway and 1080i looks the same regardless of how good the TV is.
The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets.
I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.
65” OLED. When you go true black, you’ll never go back. Next one will be 75” OLED. True black. Need a fairly big room to fit and enjoy this monster though. Wife loves it.
I would go shop at Costco for the best deals. I used to sell TVs at Best Buy (when 4K first came out).
Brand matters here- Sony is true to color, Samsung is most vibrant, LG had the original OLED but I think Sony and Samsung have their own spin on that tech as well.
4K is pretty standard so although 1080p might be cheaper, it’s probably easier to just find a 4K one at this point. I’ve seen some in the $500-750 range that should be fine. The resolution really won’t be as impressive as store demos, usually most people just watch VOD streamed so the limiting factor is your wifi typically. Stupid YouTube doesn’t even allow me to adjust my resolution and dumps the bitrate. You’d think Google infra could do a better job. I digress.
TLDR: 4K is standard now, even if the marginal benefits compared to 1080p aren’t actually that worth it, they’re cheap enough. Getting a pitch black screen (through OLED or some flavor of that core technology) will be the most impressive factor. You decide the benefits of that extra cost

I had to go sub-40 to fit on my desk at home (covid) it was EXPENSIVE

Honestly it's pretty hard to find a TV that isn't 4k these days
go with an LG OLED, incredible TVs. And honestly, if you're not super into audio, the built in speakers are pretty good.
I got the 55” OLED LG CX and it’s pretty great. I’ve heard Sony has the best OLED displays but they are more expensive than LG’s.
