a little lost..

Hello everyone,

I just discovered WSO few hours ago. I'm actually doing a BBA (Edhec business school) in France, I'm planning on having a major in finance next year and doing a master after that but I have so many questions about it, the careers in finance and on many other things. I've noticed that most of the people here seems to have a lot of experience and knowledge about finance which I don't have, so do you think I could find help here, or maybe I should find another place to ask my questions ?

thanksss

You can find just about anything here, finance related or otherwise. You must have ideas about what areas in finance appeal to you, look through the forums and see what catches your eye. I found WSO a few years ago and it really helped me figure out what I wanted out of finance and what steps to take in order to get there. WSO really is a very useful resource.

I wish I read WSO more during recruiting. I got an offer in the last recruiting season and some threads would have helped me out in the process. Lots of on-topic discussion if you know what to search for- at least more on-topic than reddit or other forums. There seem to be a lot of people legitimately in the industry which helps cut away some BS or at least call it out.

Well, usually WSO is used for the most important things... like which city has the best tinder scene and 20 different target rankings every day. Enjoy it.

welcome! couple ideas: go to the top discussions of all time, sort by year (lots of good stuff pre-2019), read up on the various industry guides, etc.

this is both a good place and bad place for discussion, like everywhere. the gold star by someone's name means they were verified as being in industry, they have to send someone at WSO a picture of their business card or LinkedIn profile with some other proof, so it's a good tell for if someone's a faker.

a good best practice is to search the best content of all time, search the most recent couple of pages in whatever forum your question belongs, use the search function, and if you can't find it, post a new question.

best of luck
