AAPL WWDC 2014

What do you guys think? Smart homes, apple health, IOS 8, mobile payments, and probably some more on their smart car software later on... Hopefully an iwatch too.

To be honest, all of this stuff is just "meh" to me. It also sounds stupidly expensive and reminds me of siri - cool in concept, but just a gimmick in the end.

internet connected laundry machines and smart homes have been around for a while too. I've seen IPad controlled homes for the extremely wealthy already.

In regards to the mobile fitness, i think it's mostly crap. Fitbits, samsung hrms, are all really inaccurate.

I think watches are the correct extension for the iphone as the next phone won't be anything special beyond a marginal upgrade with the gimmicks mentioned above. Most cheaper phones on the market are good enough, and getting the latest specs is pretty pointless. The iphone 5s a7 chip is already more power you can handle in a phone. In terms of value, I think spending the 200/300 on an iwatch instead of an slightly better phone makes a lot more sense - though neither is really gonna be that necessary.

I actually think msft surface pro 3 is heading in the right direction. Hopefully they get it lighter, cheaper, and with LTE next year. The pro 3 isn't there yet, but i'm very impressed.
