I enjoy it, as well as a bunch of other bitter/herbal/medicinal flavors (Fernet, Chartreuse, black licorice). Pernod is a common brand. St George makes a nice one. Where in the world did you get it? That would help narrow it down.

absinthe drip, a small amount of absinthe in a glass, a dash of simple syrup and some good water to dilute the thing a little bit. The water really opens up the herbal flavor in the alcohol, which is certainly superior to drinking the thing neat, which knocked me out the first time I had it.
