Absinthe Drinker
Is there any absinthe drinker here on WSO? I had a bottle a couple years ago and loved it. I can't seem to remember the name of the brand, any suggestion for good absinthe?
Doesn't everyone on this forum drink absinthe....
Got my brother a bottle a few years back, I believe it was Suisse Vert, I want to say it was made by Kubler, but I will ask him to confirm the name next time I see him.

Vieux Pontarlier is awesome for mixed drinks.
I rarely come across is. Sometimes a good cocktail bar will include absinthe in their Sazerac recipe, but that's about the extent of my exposure.
I enjoy it, as well as a bunch of other bitter/herbal/medicinal flavors (Fernet, Chartreuse, black licorice). Pernod is a common brand. St George makes a nice one. Where in the world did you get it? That would help narrow it down.
One friend in Miami, that's why its impossible to nail down.
What's a good starter cocktail or way to drink absinthe
absinthe drip, a small amount of absinthe in a glass, a dash of simple syrup and some good water to dilute the thing a little bit. The water really opens up the herbal flavor in the alcohol, which is certainly superior to drinking the thing neat, which knocked me out the first time I had it.
