Eh. I have ADHD, not sure I'd put this up. I wouldn't judge you for it in any capacity, but it sure as hell wouldn't make me want to hire you over anybody else. ADHD is commonly associated with the inability to focus and zone in on singular tasks, and that may strike issues with folks in the financial world. Not saying that's right, but if you're being interviewed by someone who's 55 and thinks that ADHD is a 'made-up issue' then you'd be surprised at their willingness to throw you down in a pile, regardless of the legality of that situation.

ADHD is super manageable, as I've been living with it my entire life. I got diagnosed when I was 25, pretty late. It explained why I couldn't manage simplistic school tasks, but had absolutely no issue excelling in the industry. I'm prescribed 15mg Adderall IR daily, and it does wonders for me.

I've been on a form of dextroamphetamine for seven years now - have had plenty of time to experiment. Know firsthand the ups and downs that come with any type of stimulant in that capacity. I've tried Adderall, Vyvanse, and Ritalin. I've tried IR, XR, ER, and everything in between, while also experimenting with different dosages. The 15mg IR just seemed to work the best when combining it with appetite, workability, and sleep - as you mentioned.

I'm prescribed 15mg x 45ct for my 30-day refill. Usually, I'll take one per day in the morning. My ADHD is kind of a 'push' style - I have no problem getting into a task once I've started, but getting myself going is hard for me. I'll take my medication usually after breakfast on the way to work - combined with my coffee, it gives me a boost to gridlock my morning into something productive. The half-life for IR medication is generally 4-5hrs, and the 15mg will trim that to about 3. If I take it around 7:30-8a, it'll wear off by 11 and I go to lunch around 12:30 or 1. I may then take one in the afternoon if I need help getting back in the zone.

But, 4hrs is the max, so it doesn't interfere with my sleep schedule at all. I've been recently trying to wake up at 5:30a and go to the gym pre-work, so I've been getting to bed by 9:30-10 and it doesn't hurt my sleep at all. Can definitely see how an XR or LA form of medication (half-life usually 12-14hrs) would fuck you over - speaking from experience as well.

Very similar story here. I’m on 20mg LA and that seems to be the magic number for me
