Advice / options for housing and roommates - Chicago 2026

Title but recently accepted an offer in Chicago as SA for 2026 and have been looking for housing options that are relatively nice but not too expensive (thinking something around the $1000, +- $200). I've come across some UIC student housing options like the Buckingham, Arc, Infinite apartments. Anyone have experience with any of these + others? Recs?

Also, do people usually go random for roommates? Is it weird asking HR to introduce me to some of the other interns so i could potentially room with them?
