Almost got jumped near Union Square, where do I avoid this

Hi everyone.

I'm new to New York, and I almost got jumped by 3 hobbit looking characters and their two dogs because I wouldn't give them some of my food. They got real close, but someone stepped up and got in their way. One of their dogs licked me.

Is there an area in Manhattan that completely avoids homeless/crazy people? I am willing to pay up to $2200 a month to get away from this once and for all.

Hahahaha

Under my tutelage, you will grow from boys to men. From men into gladiators. And from gladiators into SWANSONS.

If a bum asks you for actual food and you are holding it, just fucking give it to them dude. I know you stood in line for an hour for that cronut, but get over it.

Look more intimidating. Have a snarl on your face. carry yourself as though you work in Hunts Point vs Wall Street. Clench your briefcase harder. Look straight ahead. Have that swagger about you and no bum will ever mess with you.

This x1000. If someone really had the nerve to screw with you like that, they really must have thought you were a pussy. Can't have that swag about you man; you need to walk like you're on edge and one wrong move will get someone's wig split.

Gotta be the most funniest thing i read all day, hope your ok.

To OP I think you need to go the the gym and lift some weights and change the way you carry yourself. changing areas not gonna change how people view you.

I know your type OP. You're one of those nervous people who'd change carriages on the subway because there's a homeless person in yours. If you think Union Square is 'inhospitable' I'd suggest moving to Iowa.

People demand freedom of speech as a compensation for freedom of thought which they seldom use.

I'd also really recommend a busy thoroughfare like 32nd St near Penn Station. Not a homeless person in sight.

3 midgets and two dogs targeted you? This sounds like a personal issue.

I'm curious: what kind of food did you have?
