Amplify trading - would you pay to intern?

Every once in a while I see these LinkedIn updates about how some uni students did their "Amplify Trading Spring Week Internship" but it was in fact a one-day online event. Every post like this tags Morgan Stanley as Amplify's sponsor. Are they legit? They do 4-week summer internship programmes but you have to pay £2500 or something like that, not to mention housing in London if you are not local which will be another £1000-1500. Also hearing friends say that they get messages on Linkedin from Amplify employees asking them to apply to their "internship". Can anyone testify to the quality of their programme? Better / worse than tobin co? Useful for future recruitment in the future?

The upcoming depression will certainly take care of the 'pay our rent & wages to intern for us' business model. If recruiters haven't heard of them now, they definitely wont in the future. Save your money.

The thing is, in every linkedin post they make and they encourage their "interns" to make, they always make sure that their name is followed by "Sponsored by Morgan Stanley" which seems to give them a modicum of credibility especially among college kids, which is enough for them to pay 4000 a month to intern for amplify

Sponsorship doesn't mean anything other than advertising for the Morgan Stanley brand. Its not the traders at MS reaching out to you on linkedin right? 'Traders' at Amplify have never even held a regulated position.

Seems probable that Amplify may have developed a S&T platform that MS uses as 1-2 day training for new recruits. No reputable prop/quant firm will take you seriously if you pay money for this shite, better you just trade it yourself. Or just get a Free sim from Q-Trader/ IG ffs.

*We invite students interested in a career in global markets to engage with a state-of-the-art simulation that will rotate them through roles in market making, sales trading and execution trading.

As sales traders use their client relationship ability to facilitate client flow, market makers will be delivering prices and using the exchange and inter-dealer brokers to unwind risk. This is a unique way to really understand what happens on an investment bank trading floor. The event is designed to be engaging and fun, and suitable for any student who may have no prior financial training.*
