Yeah I do every board sport. I'm best at snowboarding.
I have a sector 9 longboard. I used to longboard around the East Village when I lived in NYC to go to the gym or get groceries etc. I've been in some pretty tight situations longboarding in NYC - makes it fun.
Definitely, I ride an element cruiser -- you get the speed of a longboard, but can still ollie/ kickflip etc.
It makes skating around traffic ridiculously fun.
Longboarder here. I was told I am too old for skateboards (never learned it when I was a teenager). Longboards are working out for me.
What I would like to ask: Does anybody use their board for local commuting? Going to a local shop? Replace the car or public transport when going somewhere nearby?
I'll ride my board on weekends if I'm going shopping or something, but never for the commute to work.
Eating shit is unavoidable, but I wouldn't risk it in a suit
I really only fall when I'm hammered. Skateboarding is the ultimate sobriety test - it's funny.
Avid skateboarder here. What’s funny is that I’ve gotten more into skateboarding in my banking years than I’ did in college. Guess it’s just trying to hold on to my identity while in a suit all day. I’ still love it though and go hit up the park as often as I can. Aside from being incredibly fun, it’s a great release from the corporate world cause I’m always the only banker at the park (and My working world is so foreign to everyone there). Keeps you grounded
I used to skate in high school, but dropped it in college. I've always been a snowboarder, and have picked mountain biking back up the past year.
I skated for a small park in middle-school. Died out in high-school, and shifted to other sports. Was a fun time.
