Anybody else tired of pointless LinkedIn requests?

For perspective, I have less than 150 connections, and most of them are people I've met. I rarely do cold requests to IB folks, but when I do I found I have about a 40% success rate. I'd like to say I'm pretty strategic about my networking.

On the other hand, ever since I've put my role on my linked in, I've received 1-2 connection requests a day from kids at my school (non-target). People I've never met or had class with. Non to be impersonal or mean, but I seriously could not give a fuck about getting 500 connection or knowing what an IT major is up too. Doesn't help that most of them are frat. I hate being in a fraternity.

I'm a rather private person, and I'm not trying to ego-trip. I have more connections than instagram followers. Should I just reject the stack or will this make me look like a dick on campus? Am I a hypocrite?

LinkedIn is a numbers game more than anything. 500+ connections and endorsements are what make you look good; to most, it doesn’t matter if you know them or not
