I'm going to bonnaroo for the first time this year. Anyone going this year or have interesting stories about it to tell? Or about any music festivals for that matter.
All I know is that it is going to be absolutely sick. Wu-tang, A$AP, Kendrick, NAS, Mumford, the XX, Tom petty, Pretty lights, passion pit. Jesus christ
I bought my tickets today. Never been (always had something going on during it) but always wanted to go. Should be a good way to finish up my pre-work life as I start training 2 or 3 weeks later.
It used to be a big hippie/drug scene and then MTV bought it a couple years back. Now it's just a big drug event. I'm from TN and have a few friends who have/are working the gates -- they have some pretty interesting stories about bribes they've received from people without tickets wanting to get in.
It is also very dirty -- thousands of people who won't shower for days sleeping in tents and what not. It's a lot of fun though if you can handle that sort of thing.
Bonaroo is awesome (from what I heard) but is slightly behind Lollapalooza unless you're into the camping/not showering/high all day scene. Chicago is more enjoyable than middle of nowhere TN IMO but, I've been to Lolla the past two years so I'm biased.
Jesus is gonna make it there too? I'm in.
