Anyone Else Pumped for GoT Season 3 (No Book Spoilers Please)

I can't wait for this show to start back up again. I'm working my way through the second book, but I loved the 1st book and the 1st two seasons of the shows. Can't wait to find out what happens next.

Definitely. I read all the books(used to have some very long international flights for work) and loved them. I think the show does a good job of covering the majority of the books. Some things don't translate well but it is definitely the best book to movie/tv adaptation I know of. I heard a rumor that since the books are so long, starting with Season 3 of the HBO show it will take 2 seasons to cover each book. It would make sense, and also probably give them enough time for the 6th book to be out before they get through all the seasons.

S1>>>>>>>>>>>>>S2

S2 was slow moving to me, and it took forever for the opposing sides to "do their thing" and progress. And the battle episode just seemed like it was trying to be LOTR on too small a budget. Though the season largely redeemed itself with an exciting finale and left open some interesting plots. IMO by far the best of the show so far is the second half of S1, the rest is ok but just doesn't compare.

just my 2 cents, not really a fantasy guy though

Season 3 is supposed to be insane from a budget perspective. I saw an interview with the producer and he said compared to the first season, they were essentially given a blank check. The actual number hasn't been released, but it's estimated to have a minimum of $10mm/episode.
