Anyone else think the whole Brian Flores NFL thing is hypocritical?
The facts of the situation are that the Giants had already decided to hire Brian Daboll, but they still interviewed Daboll after the decision. While this is obviously a shitty hiring process, it's not crazy or illegal.
Beyond that, Flores alleges that he was only interviewed to satisfy the Rooney Rule while the team didn't have any intention of taking him, and everyone is freaking out because this is racist? To preface this, I am a liberal here who just does not understand the liberal outrage here. I just find it extremely hypocritical. So Flores is complaining because they interviewed him, because of the objectively racially-discriminative (aka: RACIST) affirmative action policy which was the only reason he got that interview in the first place, and that interview didn't result in a job? To me, this just seems like a whiny bitch who couldn't land the job despite the advantages created for him within the rules of the game. It was a sham interview created by a racist process, and this man is entitled enough to sue the organization that gave him the interview that he never deserved in the first place, because he didn't get hired. Wanna get hired? Be a great coach. Don't alienate your players and front office.
I am saying this as someone who truly believes that Mike Tomlin is the 2nd best coach in the NFL right now (behind Belichick of course), and I'm not a Steelers fan. Look at how long Tomlin has had his job, the personalities he's successfully dealt with. Truly a great coach. Being a good coach has nothing to do with being black and white (and I'm not white).
Comparing this situation to my personal life, I've been in processes where I realize that it's clear that the firm is looking to take a female. Most of my friends have had similar experiences. We realize that we were never in consideration at all and all our time has been wasted. Apparently, I can sue these places for sexism now? Is that how it works?
Are you surprised he's playing the race card? Didn't surprise me one bit. And watch, he'll end up getting a decent check out of this somehow - today's society has made that very much a possibility.
"Mr. Flores, what you have just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul because NFL fans won't."
If it's not obvious, I wholeheartedly agree that Flores is totally without a leg to stand on and is probably just going off of bad advice that some high priced lawyer/PR talking head told him to throw the race card (while they laugh cashing Flores's check).
NFL fans won't do shit except continue watching fast food commercials telling them to get triple vaxxed for trans justice during the halftime show and buying jerseys with another man's name on it.
stop feeding the beast and turn your TV off
