Anyone familiar with the San Fran area?
Some roomates and I are heading out to San Francisco next month to do some partying on the west coast. Anyone know the area enough to say where the good college age bars are?

Marina.
North Beach, pegged to downtown, is the center of nightlife.
I'm originally from the SF area...Agree with both of the above posts - Marina and North Beach are the places to see and be in San Francisco. Both present a solid scene for young/youngish people (great bars, food, just a good vibe in general).
Here's a pretty decent summary of most of the districts in SF: http://www.thebolditalic.com/drewhoolhorst/stories/1958-moving-to-san-f…
Oh, and definitely check out Castro District...if that's something you might be into.
If anyone finds a good answer to where the boring late-20s people hang out, let me know. I'm already tired of Marina and North Beach, haha
I think Noe Valley has some pretty cool parts. Nob Hill has nice parks and Mission is awesome for the art, culture, (latin) food, etc. I also never get tired of Fisherman's Wharf (but that might just be me).
Marina, go to the Triangle Bars. Balboa Cafe, City Tavern and Eastside West
Thanks a lot everyone, I'll make sure to stop by both districts and those bars Beachbum89 recommended. Is there any other cool shit to see/do in the area in the day time? I plan on looking online but I figure locals would have better suggestions.
Fisherman's Wharf/Pier 39 (seafood, cool pier stuff, boat tours to Golden Gate), Exploratorium, Alcatraz tour (although I'm pretty sure you have to reserve tickets for these way in advance, at least in the summer), Golden Gate bridge (just to say you've been there/take pics), Ghirardelli Chocolate Factory, take a cable car tour. Also lots of art/music/cultural museums, theatres, and other exhibits if that's your thing.
One of my favorite things to do is just walk through fisherman's wharf/the piers down that entire boardwalk...the scene there is always pretty cool and lively.
Awesome thanks
