Anyone into playing GOLF here?

Hi. I am a beginner and wanted to know if you can recommend any good coach in Manhattan? Golf range? Golf courses nearby? And any good and cheap places to buy golf gear? Thank you so much!

I want to get into golf as well. Never played a day in my life and but a lot of people I’ve spoken with seem to play and I’d like to fit in. Been watching some YouTube videos to get to know the basics but would like to actually play.

Pretty sure the only range in Manhattan is Chelsea pier (wayyy overpriced but cool environment and fun for beginners). You can also get lessons there - unsure of the quality, though. Think there is a range on Randall’s island as well, but I’ve never been so can’t comment on price / quality. I’ve heard there are also a number of indoor simulator places

As far as public courses near nyc go, there’s trump ferry point, van cortlandt park, Pelham bay, etc. there’s a number of apps like golf now and supreme golf that will help you find available tee times at public courses.

cheap places to get clubs - if you’re a beginner and not fully committed, I would recommend getting a used set on Craigslist / Facebook marketplace or look at a golf galaxy / dicks sporting goods type of place for used clubs. If you are really serious about playing, definitely get fitted for your clubs at a place like club champion (you’ll be paying premium prices for premium quality custom clubs)
