Anyone play chess?
Started playing more after watching the Queen's Gambit and it's pretty addicting. Granted, I absolutely suck right now and am like a 900 on the chess.com app

Hell yeah man. Got into it because of Queen’s Gambit as well (and it seems from Chess.com analytics that thousands of others did too). Chess videos even started popping up in my YouTube feed. Dm me I’ll if you wanna play I suck too tho lmaooo.
Yeah, started playing as a young kid and stopped when I got to college but looking to pick it up again. DM if u want to play
Same, played competitively in middle/high school. Got some friends into it during college but have pretty much stopped since then. When I worked construction I would often play on my phone but I had to put it away otherwise I could easily spend 3-4 hours of my day just running two or three games at a time and I wouldn't get any work done haha.
Lol yea. I have been playing since March though since lockdown. I noticed a lot more people playing after the Queen's Gambit. I'm really good at a version called Atomic on lichess.com - 1724 Rating.

Took me around three months, but tbh atomic is much easier than normal chess. That's why I play it often.
Go check "Go" or "Baduk". You like chess, you'll find playing Go way more fun.
I have not played since I was a kid. I did not play enough to excel at it but a friend of mine was a grandmaster who made a career out of it.
I thought the Queen's Gambit was great.
A couple of my friends are pretty good chess players. Always played strategy games, I play chess everyday. My biggest problem is closing a game and having the foresight to execute. Hoping I can get over that, lost like 20 matches in a row lately lol
no because i have obsessive personality and if i go down that route i'll have to spend years memorising lines
do not know how to play either, but got interested after watching the movie
Queen's Gambit was such a great series, enjoyed every minute of it. Absolutely love chess!
Based on this topic, I signed up on Chess.com. I was terrible as a kid and I still suck but at least I know how to play. The only thing I am a little unclear about is all the rules regarding castling. I forgot that if you are in check, you can't castle. If I want to get serious about it, I probably need to do some research on strategies. This seems like a fun activity while in a pandemic. DM me if you want to play a game or look me up on chess.com. My username is MWFinchess.
Haha, the same. I started playing after watching the Queen's Gambit. Pretty interesting, how many people are started to play at all after watching it?
Have played on and off since a kid. Not very good at it though lol. Haven’t played since hs
Yes. I play chess
