Apartment Searching going into FT

What is the best way to go about finding an apartment in NYC? My group has 4 total people and we are searching for a 4 bed. I’ve seen decent places on renthop and streeteasy for under our budget (8k or 2k per person).

Anyone have recommendations? Looking to start in July, planning to start touring apartments in late may.

I lived in a true 4BR in NYC (East Village) for years and it was an absolute blast. GL on the search.
