They're probably filtered. I have my own work email set to filter out a lot of that sort of stuff because I just don't have the time or patience to deal with it and I'm not even at a bank, so I'd imagine their filters are even stricter for compliance reasons. Just use LinkedIn.

but are they filtered specifically for gmail.com addresses or in general for any address that you haven't interacted with? For example, i never had an issue with using my college email, that's why i asked the Q, because i heard companies in general block personal gmail addresses.

I dunno who cares, just send the emails and try your luck. If it doesn't work try making a proton account or something. Personally I think in general emails are less effective than LinkedIn.

It depends on the bank, institution, or anything really. Some places are asinine enough to only have whitelists, and whitelists of specific senders. It really just depends on the specifications of whoever set it up, and it may even require one of those PGP things to even be able to send in an email that gets anywhere in the case of a smaller bank or a self-hosted email server.

I'd recommend testing it out, asking, or just using some other messaging method since the filters are probably network side and probably only for the most popular sites.

The fuck are all of the people above saying? Using your personal email is absolutely fine. I got a shit ton of responses and I never once used LinkedIn or my campus email.

Don't think that's the case, but often time people set their own filters and rules in Outlook to avoid networking emails. It's a volume game so ya just gotta keep churning out that outreach.
