Are QR codes common in your area?

I spent a few days in Greece recently and was surprised by the number of QR codes I spotted while simply going to the beach. Aside from restaurant menus and supermarket deals, I saw them even on the outside of memorabilia shops, clothing stores, and even in a skate shop! Like, they took up a good chunk of the stores' windows, I suppose so that people can scan them from a distance.

Would you say this is normal for busy tourist locations or is it something you see every day?

They became a lot more prevalent during covid when restaraunts didn't want to use physical menus because of germs etc. I personally hate them

Well, QR codes haven't done me wrong so far so I don't harbor any particular feeling for them lol... But yeah, they don't always look exactly "fashionable". It must be a case of form-over-function, otherwise, people wouldn't opt to display them so much. Plus, there are at least a few leading QR code generators that offer advanced security options like SSO login and password protection, so I suppose business owners can rest easy there. After all, no one wants to expose their customers to risks. Yet, I rarely interacted with QR codes in the past, but I scanned a few last month in Greece and one of them even got me a discount eligible for 15 mins. Nothing groundbreaking, but still neat given today's stores' general tendency to inflate prices ad infinitum
