Are self deprecating types the most successful?
despite what people say about financiers being arrogant etc, atleast when interacting I see quite a lot of senior people are self-deprecating, trying to throw away the spotlinght from themselves etc (eg:
2:33 in the video when Hugh Laurie talks about his knighthood). Just a common theme I saw. Do you agree? Ofcourse, being in Europe, I am speaking more from the perspective here, not sure if same in US!
It's called false modesty and it works wonders ;) ;)
It's not false modesty when you really don't want to be the center of attention. It's called making yourself relatable to others who may be less accomplished.
