Are you considering a consulting career as a woman?

I wanted to ask your opinions about choosing consulting as your career path. Are you considering such an option? What are your main concerns and hopes?

Personally, I believe there are still far too few women in consulting, I think we can benefit this industry greatly by our listening skills, great client communication and good structure.

What do you think?

I think that perpetuating the stereotype that women are better at communicating and worse at quant is really dumb.

For me, defenitely I will consider consulting as a great career path especially when I am fresh out of undergrad. It's a great way to learn a braod range of business, get exposed to good networks and it's a great foundation for whatever you want to do in the future.

As for concerns, the long working hours ( but better than banking), and very possibly we have to travel to our clients' office so we pro dont have a personal life ( maybe?). But as long as we are young, I think this is not a big problem.
