Back to the Music
With everything I've gotten into over the last few months, I haven't had much time to let loose with my guitar and randomly decided to pick it up and record something today.
It's an extended solo of Fuel by Metallica. Let me know what you guys think :)
I was literally in the middle of listening to this song as I had Reload on repeat... this was awesome.
I wish more people would appreciate some of the 90's material Metallica has put out. I personally think that it was as good as their 80's sound from RTL and MoP. A lot of their newer stuff hasn't been too great (I'm thinking St. Anger), but they can still produce awesome stuff (Rebel of Babylon? Unbelievable).
If on their next album they added an Unforgiven IV... my life would be complete lol.
You missed a few notes but overall it was a great cover, I think.
Thanks for the kind words.
I'm of the same opinion, it was still great music but in my opinion I don't think most people understand the guys needed to do something like this. The introduction of grunge, forcing them to reshape their image just to stay in the business, didn't help either lol
If you look at RTL, MoP & AJFA, all 3 are structured very similarly: First song always starts with some kinda funky intro and goes into an all out trash fest. 2nd track is always the title track. and always with the ballad that has an interlude leading to more trash, a la fade to black, welcome home and one.
I'm sure after doing it 3 times they were pretty uninspired as it was.
I'd love to hear an unforgiven 4 too!
It's a bitch and a half to learn, but I love this one:
i think it was great actually shame i haven't had the time to play the guitar lately
one is my personal favorite. loved playing that shit on guitar hero 3 as well

I find myself listening to this cut very often. Something about it brings a smile to my face :)
