Last year, I was driving to my first day of an internship. I was on my phone while stopped at a red light and I didn’t notice that it had turned green. The car behind me wanted to let me know that it turned green, so he honked at me, but not like a small honk - bro held it down hard, well after I passed the light. So, I showed him the naughty finger and pointed at it like this 🖕🏼👈🏼. He returned the gesture, cut me off, and sped off.
So after informally meeting my VP, we “formally” met when our MD introduced me to him. We never addressed our road rage love story and that summer sure was awkward.
On a serious note, get off your phone if you are the driver of a car.
But, a situation like that is only awkward if you make it awkward. If I had to bet, I would say that you've spent a lot more time thinking about this than the VP has. Don't make it something it's not.
