Best Gyms in Midtown Manhattan

Hi all - looking for suggestions for gyms in or close to midtown Manhattan and/or Murray Hill.

Not looking for anything special (free weights, bench, cable machine, etc.) but would prefer late closing hours and not a super packed gym. Usually workout later in the day (9pm). Budget is flexible.

Sorry let me elaborate a bit...

24 hour: really hard to beat the convenience of being able to work out whenever you want, including any time on weekends. certainly not the nicest facility but crowds aren’t too bad unless you are there at peak hours (5-7pm). Fair warning that the showers and locker rooms are gross

Other options:

New York sports club: worst facilities and crowded, but cheapest option if you want to limit your monthly spend

Equinox: the one on 2nd st is a nice facility, but doesn’t offer too much more as far as equipment goes than you would get at 24 hr. Hours are limited

The equinox in grand central is another option but they aren’t open on weekends and thats a deal breaker in my opinion

Health and racquet club: another small but nice facility with very limited crowds. More pricey than everything except equinox and limited hours

Check to see if your company has partnerships with any gyms because you can save a lot of money that way

Have been a member at both NYSC and Crunch in MH. NYSC equipment was horrible, and the locker room wasnt that great. The cost is almost the same as Crunch. The only downside about Crunch is that it gets ridiculously packed during peak hours, and the personal trainers there hog the benches/machines for their clients for way too long. If you are looking for gym in Murray Hill, I would prob say Crunch is the best one
