Best Ju-Jitsu Gyms for a Banker’s Schedule in NYC

Just moved to NYC and looking for a Ju-Jitsu gym to join. However some are closed on the weekends and don’t give classes past 6pm.

Curious to hear if anyone has found a gym that’s worth paying for while working banking hours.

bump and interested,

but i don't know how you would fit in Jiu Jitsu into your schedule except on weekends during very busy weeks. It seems like a difficult decision given the fact that these gyms cost a fortune and you can't train everyday.

OP, if I were you I'd do a bunch of trial lessons to figure out which place has the best vibe. do you want a competition heavy school, self defense mostly, gi, nogi, or something else. you don't know until you try. I trained at HAMA in denver (where gaethje, usman, magny, blaydes, sandhagen, etc.) train and was terrified before I got there, thinking it was all going to be people with nothing to lose and want to take everyone's head off, I couldn't have been more wrong, even rolling with an active bellator competitor I felt right at home. gym culture is something you have to see firsthand

also ask about cancellation policy for lessons, you don't want an MD email cause you to cancel late and then have that lock you out of training for weeks (seen this happen with gyms that do probation)
