Best Laptop 2023

Have used apple laptops all my life, so no real idea what laptop I should get. I know that most people say like a thinkpad X1 carbon, but those things are even more expensive than Macs for the same specs. Was thinking to get a Mac and use parallels, but the keyboard layout is different which I anticipate will lead to some issues. I really like the dell XPS line, but the fact that there's just 2 usb c ports is somewhat of a dealbreaker. Any recommendations for devices/ways to get discounts would be appreciated. Thanks!

It probably necessitates a "brick" that connects to the laptop and has all the required ports. This is if you need several ports.

Thinkpad L15 Gen 2. Got the job done for my 1st year and its a good size

Is this laptop purely for work and browsing? If so:

FYI the new XPS 13 plus lines also don't have actual Function keys. They're capacitive touch keys. Imo it's not an ideal laptop to recommend anymore.

XPS 15 is fine, but obviously maybe bigger than what you're looking for.

X1C new imo is insanely overpriced. An old one (maybe Gen 9) could be alright.

Assuming your budget is less than ~$1.5k. I think you can get some new gen HP Elitebooks w/12th/13th Gen Intel around there. There's also a pretty good deal on HP Pavillion Plus 14in.

Lenovo-wise, the Yoga line is a good alternative to the X1 line. A good one is the Yoga Slim 7 Pro X (mouthful). If you spec it without GPU, you get a very solid price.
