Best Look For Facial Hair

A few months ago, I decided to try to grow a goatee but after like 3-4 weeks, it did not look right.  May be it was the razor I use, but taking it off took a while.  Lately, I have been growing it for about 3-4 days and then I shave it off.  For me, the best look is at around 3 days which is what  @Isaiah_53_5 said he does.   I only grow the Goatee area. I do not think the rest of my facial hair would grow in as well.

If you grow facial hair, what is your style/approach?

Usually trim it once a week and have the guard on 2, gives a nice clean look that goes well with my cut. I used to have a longer beard but my current look suits my face better.

Full beard?

Yeah but it was all curly and didn't look good at all. I'd slap myself if I could back two years.

Tbh, I just do not like the look of a full beard, as I do not think it looks very youthful.  For you it probably makes more sense now because you are in college, right.  Looking older at your age is probably a good thing.  In college, you can do whatever you want.  When you get out of college, I would ditch the idea of a full beard, especially if you want to work in finance.  Not many people have a full beard in finance, especially if you work for a big broker dealer.

Feels haha, I can't grow a good beard or stubble so I just clean shave...I'm like 22 but look like a freshman but I don't mind it. I just hope it doesn't impact me in a negative way for jobs.

Some people mature later than others.  In the long run, it is a good thing to look young but when you are young it can be a negative.  When I young, I was like you but it affected my confidence, especially in high school and to some extent in college.  To compensate, at least in my mind, I started lifting weights and that helped quite a bit.  When I got to the work force it really did not matter all that much.  Although, it would probably have been useful to have some grey hair when I was meeting with clients.  Looking back, most people including chicks, probably did not care that I looked young: only I cared which was kind of dumb.

The hair growth thing is strange one for me because I never use to be able to grow much of anything on my face.  Only in the past year, I have been able to grow a decent looking stubble or goatee and I am decades older than you.  I think my increased ability to grow facial hair is related my new skin care routine.

I also like the 3-stubble look. Get yourself a beard trimmer with adjustable guard length and you can have 3 stubble all the time. Make sure you line up the neck and cheeks so it looks clean. I also like to trim my at a slightly shorter length than the rest of my face.

Being indian means my hair grows within a few hours... used to have a 3-4 inch beard that i'd trim and line up daily to maintain crisp lines, no stray hairs etc and then oil that sucker and moustache for a van dyke style goatee on the front with beard on the cheeks. With a fade and hair slicked back, was a pretty good look if i dont say so myself.

Now IB stress finally caught up with my hairline, just get a low fade back and sides with a #2 or #3 beard trim. Trim and line up daily both on the cheeks and under the chin/neck and upper chest bit.
