Best Place to learn Code

Planning to learn how to code during my free time in college as it is becoming more prevalent in finance. Was interested in learning python to apply it in any potential future jobs as well as UI/UX due to my extensive knowledge in graphic design. If anyone has any good programs or sites outside of college and feedback, that would be greatly appreciated.

I don’t even remember what I used to learn. I bounced course to course and could never focus on them but somehow absorbed enough to get a job and the rest is history. “Python for everybody” by a professor at UMichigan is a good Python course to start with. Best of luck!

The best approach to learning to code is to pick up coding basics e.g. variables, loops, functions etc. (literally pick any beginner python course online it doesn't matter when it comes to basics) then go straight into working on a personal coding project that interests you. The aim here is to move onto personal projects as quickly as you can because that's where the real learning happens - you will inevitably get stuck which will prompt you to search for answers whether its StackOverflow or YouTube.

I liked DataCamp.  I really hate coding, but it's needed for dealing with big datasets.

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.
