Best Places to live in Boston?

I'm currently in the process in relocating to Boston from NYC for an AM gig. For everyone that lived in Boston recently or currently, where's the most safe and affordable places to rent for someone working in Downtown. Budget is ~$1,700 a month. If I could, I'd prefer to walk to work or take reliable public transit. Thanks

You looking at 1 bedrooms? If so I would recommend Somerville, Allston/Brighton. Would be tough to get 1BR in South Boston for that. Craigslist and Apartments.com are good references for the area.

Few players recall big pots they have won, strange as it seems, but every player can remember with remarkable accuracy the outstanding tough beats of his career.

If you can find people to live with, Southie is the most fun area to live. Beacon hill is also good. I like the North End as well since I've been going there for the festivals and food since I was a kid.
