Best way to be an expert in excel?

what's the best way to learn excel extremely well? should I do some online courses on it or just watch youtube videos and memorize shortcuts? and do people usually use python or MATLAB extensively in IB?

For learning functionality do an online course. Udemy has good ones. I did one of those Excel Ultra Super Complete courses.

For shortcuts do the WSO Excel training you get when first registering on the site. If you don't find it anymore, PM me and I'll send it to you.

No, they don't use Python or Matlab extensively in IB. What do you want to do, run a Monte Carlo simulation on projected cash flow? They use Excel and when necessary VBA to automate the Excel sheet. For VBA, do an online course to get the basics or read a guide on the internet. Once you're at the desk and you don't remember the correct code, use Google.
