Bezos' letter to shareholders
Amazon filed their 8-k last week, and Jeff Bezos had a great letter to shareholders. He talks a lot about the priorities of Amazon being focused on innovation. I thought it was a excellence read.
“Jeff, what does Day 2 look like?” That’s a question I just got at our most recent all-hands meeting. I’ve been reminding people that it’s Day 1 for a couple of decades. I work in an Amazon building named Day 1, and when I moved buildings, I took the name with me. I spend time thinking about this topic. “Day 2 is stasis. Followed by irrelevance. Followed by excruciating, painful decline. Followed by death. And that is why it is always Day 1.”
This doesn't necessarily give me any more or less confidence in Amazon from an investment perspective, but I am definitely more excited from a consumer perspective. What do you guys think?
Yeah. I like Amazon in that they always have this "underdog" feel to it. I think that mentality keeps them push harder and try new things. I resonate with this.
