Big 4 Audit => Corp Dev Possible?

Hi all,

I've done a search and it seems like there are mixed opinions on how likely it is to break into corporate development from a Big 4 audit background. I'll be attending a semi-target school for a masters of accounting, but I am quite sure that long-term, I want to be in either corporate development or a strategic finance type of role down the road. Obviously, consulting and i-banking experience is more favored, but I'm wondering if there is anyone on here who broke in from Audit or has seen people with Big 4 backgrounds break in on their teams and has advice on how to go about doing it.

I'm also wondering in particular if I would want to aim for B4 audit or try instead for FLDPs? I know that FLDPs vary considerably, but on average, would an FLDP or Audit set me up better for breaking into corp dev later on?

Thanks!
