I smoked for eight years and quit two months ago: and I agree with this. While it is gratifying to do so, it seems that drinking the libertarian ideological kool-aid overwhelms common sense:

You have got to be kidding me, these warnings are common throughout the rest of the world, but only in the US is it considered communist...where the hell do you people get this shit from?

And get this - nicotine does not have cancer causing properties, it's the combustion byproducts of cigarette smoke that do. Living in a big city with lots of car is worse for your lungs than moderately smoking.

Smoking being bad for your health and causing all those problems shown on the warning label is SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN FACT, whereas Obama representing "big government" is an opinion and the implication that Obama will make people in America live they are in North Korea is whatever the opposite of a fact is.

I gotta leave for work right now so no time to look for an exact number, but this guy has been researching democide for many years and how a strong central government ends up being the number one killer where ever it forms. The number is 225-250 million I believe.

The WHO states, "Tobacco caused 100 million deaths in the 20th century." Now this number seems significantly smaller than the previous. Also you have to understand the difference, this is from people who WANTED to smoke. Big government kills people who don't wanna die, smoking kills people who figure knocking off 10 years at the end of their life is fine, they don't care for being old. These are people who would rather enjoy smoking now and die from cancer many years down the line.
A lot of things are bad for your health. Is smoking really worse for your health than many other things in all cases? Sugar rots your teeth a lot faster than cigarettes and unconciously grinding your teeth from stress also tends to erode them.
It's someone's opinion Scarn, They're not saying big government is scientifically proven to be bad for your health. Read between the lines.

I definitely can't speak for everyone in the US, but a good number of Americans hold this view. And it's true, we are #1, and we can do whatever we want. I'm definitely not condoning that.
