Blue Light Glasses

How many of you use blue light blocking glasses and have you noticed any reduction in eye strain? If so, what brands do you trust? It's my understanding that there is a sizable range of quality in the market.

Other than the classic f.lux/night mode, what other ways have you all reduced eye strain?

I had these before they were a thing. They were carbon fiber and $400. They were also transitional lenses and I used them for doing research in neuroscience. I don't wear them much anymore and wonder if it was all in my head. But, my eyes are particularly sensitive to light. I wear sunglasses at the poker tables sometimes.

I'd like to hear others' thoughts on these, I have heard a lot of conflicting things about how they don't really seem to work.

I have a pair of Felix gray’s. Could easily be placebo effect but I think they work. I used to get headaches which I correlated to looking at the screen for too long but not so much anymore. I also used to have a ton of floaters but I think they’ve gotten better since I’ve started wearing the glasses. Some blue light is actually good for you, but around 8pm I like to wear them until I log off. Bottom line is they’re pretty affordable and I can’t see how they hurt

Besides eye strain, some people say that blue light glasses help to go to sleep later because blue light inhibits melatonin production. I just talked to a professor of medicine who‘s in charge of a sleep laboratory and he says that’s bs since the glasses do not prohibit blue light from getting in from the sides, above, below etc. He did say that generally reducing blue light exposure before going to bed is very important, but these glasses are useless no matter how expensive. I know the question was more about eye strain, but I thought this could be helpful to anyone who might think about the glasses for this improving sleep.

Bought a pair on Amazon (like $20) and absolutely SWEAR by them. Half my team and all my friends got them as well, similar raving reviews. Not a noticeable difference in the moment, but definitely by 10pm when you've been staring at a model all day. Also think it's made it easier to go to sleep and I notice fewer headaches/eye strains. Would highly recommend.
