His Cleaning Lady (Fast Company) - Read this one if you want to learn about a successful company which does everything the exact opposite of Wall Street. 80-hour weeks? Bullshit, take Fridays off. I'm betting not a lot of employees quit 37signals.
8) “Drunk Mirror” Experiment Gives Bar-Goers Something To Reflect On (Co.Create) - Neat idea, but never forget than an insurance company is behind it. Plus, I could actually see this thing starting some fights. Which I guess doesn't matter much to Allianz. Unless they're insuring the bar.
9) What are the best Craigslist advertisements of all time? (Quora) - A couple of these had me in stitches. The dog walker was great, the surly piano tuner from Brooklyn even better, but I think my favorite is the kick-ass San Francisco roommate ad from the 5-time entrepreneur. Only click this one if you want to burn the next half hour of your life.
10) Ale to the Chief: White House Beer Recipe (The White House Blog) - Bet you didn't think I could put a link from the White House in the same Bonus Bananas with Aljazeera, did ya? This one goes out to all the home brewers out there. We all know the Prez likes his barley pop, and now his head chef (and brewmeister) has released the official recipes for the The White House Honey Ale and The White House Honey Porter. About Korea - and this is just information one of my college friends gave me after I took a few pot shots at him when 'Gagnam style' came out. Korea has mandatory military service for all , rich or poor. And their military service is notorious for hazing. Going through that experience together in a way combats the massive income inequality , and hence people are more tolerant of it.
A heads up on number 3: he wasn't allowed to fly because his parents couldn't control him and he was running around the airport screaming, imagine if he was doing that on the plane, especially so close to the cockpit with all the food/oven/stewards? If I was on that plane and that kid was going up and down the ailse screaming i would be pissed. Plenty of parents of children with down syndrome have found appropriate ways to curb their childs behavior and they should understand that if they can't control him they need to wait it out until he calms down and then take a flight. The kid calmed down after a few hours and went home on a Delta flight.
I don't know about that. The parents claim he wasn't running around screaming, the kid was completely calm on video, and he'd flown dozens of times. On top of that, he has the mental capacity of a five year old, and plenty of five year olds (my own included) fly around the world without incident.
