Boss invited me to wedding from SA stint

Hey,

So my boss invited me to his wedding (small firm 3 employees) on a day to which I have commitments.. this is only a summer boutqiue bank internship which ends in 2 weeks..I am not wanting to accept a FT offer since the pay is no good.. (current min.wge) should i break up my current commitments to attend his wedding? how important is it to go?

You´d better go the wedding, maybe you´ll meet some interesting characters [future career opportunities]...
This. Assuming your boutique firm does alright for itself, the guys that run these firms are very well connected, which is pretty much the only way they make their money and can get deals. Even if you dont meet someone at a BB, schmoozing with guys from F500 or even PE firms can be super helpful in the long run.

who cares? if you dont want to go, then dont go...

it amazes me how worrisome people are on this forum about stupid little things. op, you clearly said you have no interest in pursuing this firm post summer internship so why even bother thinking about it. no person will honestly have a chip on their shoulder if you cant commit to something because you already had plans. wow

It's a networking opportunity and we have no idea what his "commitment" is. If the commitment is not hard to move around or not that important, networking would be more useful.

If the commitment is meeting up some friends, I would say the networking is better suited. If out-of-town family members are visiting, then it would be more understandable to pass. But op should give going to the wedding a good look.
