BP to cut staff

Awesome Monty, that should mean there are a few more experienced traders available for the Rodeo

naperville, houston and london are main hubs for bp trading

So there should be some in the area with a little spare time on their hands...in all seriousness though, this is either a bad sign or runoff from whatever penalty/loss they took after the spill...thoughts?

BP was looking to add to their trading desk in Calgary about 1-2 months ago... I think it was for an analyst on their oil desk.

it was a tough year for everyone in nat gas.... no shocker there

One or two analyst additions is probably just reflective of turnover more so than any real desire to expand

if your desk is prop why you care? as long they were long/short AECO short FP, short NE at the right times....

if not...not sure how your desk still exists....

BP has been looking to add analysts all year, but that is analysts.

Their senoir sales and structuring guys are the ones they have lost and I think will keep losing possibly.

Are they looking to add analysts from undergrad? Should I be applying online? I'm graduating in May and am interested in energy trading.
