Breaking into FT IB hong kong

Hey guys,

I'm currently serving in Singapore's military service and will be finishing my stint on February 2013. I have been looking around on the website for the timeline on Hong Kong's FT recruitment for ibanking (analyst level)

but didn't find a lot of info on the issue.

I read that the recruitment period begins around Oct/Nov for the BB banks. If you get accepted, when do you start work? I still have a loooong way to go but can't help wondering about the subject.

Appreciate your info on this issue!

Get a job in Singapore first and try to progress. Access to news might be limited in the troops so you probably didn't know that some big names just completed the 1st round of lay-offs (think GS and CS). More to come by the end of year. Your chances of successfully landing a job is much higher in your own country than HK given current market conditions.

Invest first, investigate later.
